'John Carter' New Images Online

So ahead of the official new trailer release this week, the guys at SFX have supplied 6 images from the upcoming film.

For those unfamiliar with Disneys John Carter here is a synopsis. 

A Civil War vet John Carter is transplanted to Mars, where he discovers a lush, wildly diverse planet whose main inhabitants are 12-foot tall green barbarians. Finding himself a prisoner of these creatures, he escapes, only to encounter Dejah Thoris, Princess of Helium, who is in desperate need of a savior.

The images below show some CGI alien things and Taylor Kitsch looking quite like the Prince of Persia. Throw in some generic looking Star Wars episode 1 scenery and vehicles and I think we can safely say it is nothing we have not seen before.

The whole plot seems a bit stale to me and setting it on Mars and then having Willem Dafoe playing a CGI alien (seriously just use his original face, he is creepy enough) just screams lame to me. But there you go I am not a 12 year old kid who this is inevitably aimed at.
