Gary Oldman Joins 'RoboCop' Remake

Published on by SamuelConnor

It is amazing how one actor can change your whole perception of a film. And with Gary Oldman cast in a lead role this remake has gone from 'no thanks' to 'whoah whoah wait a minute' in my view anyway.

Oldman has signed on to play Norton, the scientist who creates RoboCop and becomes conflicted with the demands of his employers and the struggles of a man who is trying to piece his lost life together again.

Oldman will be joining new RoboCop Joel Kinnaman in Jose Padilha's remake of the now classic film.

In case you have never seen RoboCop the premise of the movie is a top police officer Alex Murphy, is saved from the brink of death by a special experimental program that turns him into a cyborg police officer.

RoboCop is scheduled to open in the US on the 9th August 2013. Production is set to begin in September this year, so expect some more casting announcements in the coming months.
