Tatum Considered For Man From UNCLE

So since Geroge Clooney has dropped out of the Steven Soderbergh project as the lead role due to having surgery and not wanting to risk the stunt work. You would think Soderbergh would choose someone of equal, if not only slightly younger age to replace him, in the spy movie based on a 60's TV show.

So who could be up for that role -Bradd Pitt ? yeah I suppose, well how about Michael Fassbender?  he is getting alot of attention recently, again I can see that working.

He already persued Bradley Cooper who again could have worked nicely, the right age, the right look.

So imagine my suprise when I hear that Soderbergh has gone: 'lets go to the other end of the scale and pick someone who not only looks like a teenager, but lacks any real depth of character consistently throughout his roles, lets see if Channing Tatum wants the role'.

I mean seriously? I know he is capable of action roles what with the new GI Joe movie wrapping up, and he will be fresh in the movie goers minds after 21 Jump Street. But Channing Tatum?

I will happily say at the moment this looks like a really bad choice and looks to be a result of some kind of bromance not unlike the one between Johnny Depp and Tim Burton.

But at least with their films the characters are seemingly written for Depp, whereas this looks like Soderbergh is trying to fit a square peg into a round hole.

I guess we shall have to wait and see.
