Scarlett Johansson Denies 'Iron Man 3' Role

Published on by SamuelConnor

Amidst popular speculation Scarlett Johanson has announced that her character Black Widow will not be appearing in the next Iron Man film.

Although, while speaking to Screen Rant she has revealed a desire to have her own movie franchise based around the character.

“I think that you build this kind of character in the hope that the fans are like, ‘we want more,’” says Johansson. “I personally think there’s an awesome Black Widow movie in there. A kind of Bourne film that would take the whole comic-book genre in a completely different direction. It’d be awesome.”

“I’ve spoken to Marvel about it and Kevin Feige,” she continues, “and there’s so much story to draw from, I think it’d be totally awesome. But do I want to spend another three months shedding the manatee skin and squeezing back into that suit? Not necessarily, but it’s all worth it in the end!”

Meanwhile Iron Man 3 director Shane Black has been busy adding to his cast which now includes Guy Pearce and Ben Kingsley. Jessica Chastain is the new face that is supposedly locked in to play an unspecified character. Due to the secrecy around the film at the moment it is all speculation over who she will play, but early reports suggest a scientist who matches Tony Starks intellectual presence.

And since she is a red head like Paltrow's Pepper Potts; could we possibly see a little rivalry going on there? who knows but Iron Man does seem to attract the red heads.
