David Fincher May Not Return For 'Dragon Tattoo' Sequels

Published on by SamuelConnor

MGM has announced that they have made a small loss with the movie Girl with The Dragon Tattoo, despite making $231 million worldwide MGM have stated that it is just not enough.

They quoted that in order to justify a sequel on which they were prepared to spend $90 million on, they needed another 10% profit overall.

So for the sequel Girl Who Played With Fire they are looking at saving $5 milion by not hiring Fincher to direct.

Bear in mind that Fincher is what made this movie so popular, it could have easily been another Hollywood rehash of a foreign film but Finchers style and direction brought it above that and made it a briliant adaptation from the original novel.

Dropping Fincher is a terrible idea and lets face it MGM are just being greedy, boo hoo MGM you only got $231 million.

If they are so bothered take a leaf out of the original films book, that cost a quarter of MGM's budget to make and grossed close to $105 million worldwide.

In other Girl With The Dragon Tattoo news it seems the DVD is causing a stir within the general public and not because of the extras or content, no it is the DVD artwork itself, check it out below.

There has been so much confusion that Amazon has had to issue a note to ensure customers stop e-mailing about it.

This is the disc in question, it seems customers believe they are getting a bootleg version of the film. So I guess the artwork worked then.
