'Bill &Ted 3' Gets A Director

Bill & Ted 3 is edging even closer to actually becoming a reality as they have managed to wrangle a director for the third installment in the form of Dean Parisot.

Parisot directed Galaxy Quest and Fun With Dick And Jane so we get an idea about the level of comedy this director is used to handling. Although he may redeem himself soon, as he is currently working on the retired secret agent sequel RED 2.

The original cast are back, both Keanu Reeves and the blonde one Alex Winter are on board and the writers of the original 2 films have also returned and penned the script. One good thing to come out of this at least is that they have promised this movie is a straight sequel, no passing the torch to a new generation or rebooting an old franchise.

Even though I personally had my fill of Bill & Ted after their Bogus Journey it will be interesting to see what they can bring. As long as it is not a fish out of water comedy I am willing to give it a go. And if I am honest I would much rather see Bill & Ted's return over the Ghostbusters which is equally sitting on the fence production wise.

Bill & Ted 3 is still seeking a studio to co-fund with rights-owner MGM so until someone coughs up the cash this may well just stay a pipe dream.
